New Update

The Monday Group now meets at the Sacred Heart Centre, Glascote Heath, in term time, between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm.

The Wednesday Group at the Coton Centre meets as normal between 7.15 pm and 9.30 pm.  Again, this is in term time only.  We are now taking up to 35 attendees per week.

Covid rules still apply in order to keep everyone as safe as possible.  Ie: Use antibacterial gel on your hands as soon as you come into the building.  Wear a mask or visor.  If you are exempt wear your lanyard to prove this.   If coming for the first time, please bring your little blue card showing you have been vaccinated at least twice.  This applies to both members, carers and any parents entering the building.  Please do not come to SPIN if you have Covid symptoms, or you or anyone in your household has tested positive for Covid.

Please write to secretary@spin-tamworth.co.uk for further information, or if you would like to come along to SPIN.

Many thanks for helping to keep us all safe.

NOTICE FOR SPIN MEMBERS, PARENTS AND CARERS AND INFORMATION FOR NEW ATTENDEES

NOTICE FOR SPIN MEMBERS, PARENTS AND CARERS AND INFORMATION FOR NEW ATTENDEES

SPIN will be restarting on Wednesday night, 8 September, at 7.15 pm to 9.30 pm at the Coton Centre, Comberford Road, Tamworth.  For the time being, the Monday group, which meets at St John’s Rooms in Tamworth, will not be recommencing due to the small size of the room and the lack of adequate ventilation, but we will keep you updated on this as and when things change.

RESTRICTIONS

Covid-19 has not gone away, and there are still many cases in Tamworth as well as elsewhere in the country.  Autumn is nearly upon us and we don’t know how many more cases the winter will bring.  We would therefore ask that you please comply with the following restrictions, which will be reviewed every half term.

1                     For the time being we are restricting our numbers to 30 per week to ensure there is sufficient space for social distancing.  Depending on how Covid-19 develops as the winter approaches, this will be reviewed at half term in October, and another letter sent out to you letting you know how we will be working for the following half term.

2                     Any member wishing to come to SPIN on any Wednesday should write to the SPIN Secretary and let her know.  Please do NOT just turn up because if we already have 30 members attending, unfortunately they would need to be sent home.  If we have more than 30 wishing to come, the overflow will be placed at the top of  the list for the following week.  All who write in will receive a reply acknowledging whether they can come on their preferred date.

3                     Please wear a mask or visor when in the building, to keep both members and staff as safe as possible.  This includes parents who come into the Coton Centre when dropping off their children.

4                      If you are officially exempt from wearing a mask or visor, please wear your exemption lanyard as proof.

5                     Make sure you use the antibacterial hand gel provided as soon as you come into the building.

6                     If you did not come to SPIN in July, either to the evening group or the Activity Week, please bring with you, on your first evening back at SPIN, your little blue card to prove that you have received your 2 vaccinations.  If you have not had, or are not able to have vaccinations, please bring with you a recorded negative lateral flow test taken within the previous 2 days.

7                     Even though people vaccinated are no longer required to isolateif any member, carer, parent, staff member or volunteer contracts Covid-19, you MUST LET US KNOW, so that we can consult Public Health and Government guidelines as to what we should do, and so that we can contact all members, parents, carers, staff and volunteers, in order that they can make an informed decision as to whether they wish to still come along or whether they wish to stay away from SPIN for 2 weeks to ensure that they do not contract the virus.

CARERS

Please note that any member who requires personal care, or who has challenging behaviour, should have a carer with them.  Carers should actively take responsibility for their clients because, with the best will in the world, there are not enough staff at SPIN to give one to one care and attention to the detriment of all of the other members attending, and we want everyone to feel happy, safe and well.

TUCK SHOP

For the time being we are going to continue with a £5.00 special offer to avoid passing on the virus through excessive money handling.  If a member would like a soft drink can and a chocolate bar or packet of crisps, please bring a £5.00 note, which will cover the latter plus the £4.00 subscription for the evening.

AND FINALLY

We do look forward to seeing many of you back with us over the coming weeks.  If you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to email the SPIN Secretary (secretary@spin-tamworth.co.uk).

If you would prefer to speak to someone directly, please contact Sylvia the Club Leader (01827 65264) or Lindsey (SPIN Secretary (01827 64391).
